FIM SuperEnduro – Round 3 – France

22nd February 2014

British girl Emma Bristow claimed a start-to-finish win on the Sherco to become the first ever SuperEnduro Woman World Champion. On a tough night of racing in France she took an early lead in the race to head home Jane Daniels and Spain’s Sandra Gomez.

Emma Bristow: “World Champion – Wow! This has been a fantastic day for both myself and Sherco. I felt very comfortable in qualifying, finishing in second and we just fine tuned the machine for the race”.

“I have learned so much from the other two championship races and when the gate dropped the Sherco fired me out and I just concentrated on my line to allow me the chance to get to the front as soon as possible and control the race”.

“I could hear the noise from the crowd as they seemed as excited as i was but i paced myself and picked my way on the course to try and avoid any problems, the sensation when the chequered flag came out was un

real, I was the World Champion. To think that only a few months ago I had never even been on an Enduro machine, and now I am number one”.

“I would like to thank both the Sherco factory and the MRS Sherco team here in the UK. Malcolm and Rhoda Rathmell have encouraged me all the way as it was a perfect opportunity to demonstrate the abilities of the new Sherco Enduro machine. To everyone else including all my sponsors and supporters we can all share the glory as I can proudly stake my claim that I am a World Champion”.

Results: 1: Emma Bristow (MRS Sherco-GBR); 2: Jane Daniels (Husqvarna-GBR); 3: Sandra Gomez (Husaberg-ESP)
